Obesity – Obesity & overweight are defined as abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that present risk to health.
A body mass index (BMI) over 25 is considered as overweight, over 30 is obese.
Causes of Obesity:

- Life style
- Sleep
- Stress
- Diet – Consumptions of high amounts of energy, particularly fat and sugars, but don’t burn of the energy through exercise and physical activity, much of the surplus energy will be stored by the body as fat. Also intake of fast food, junk food, highly processed food leads to obesity. Excessive consumption of alcohol may also leads to weight gain.
- Life Style – Sedentary lifestyle, physical inactivity, lack of exercise can affect metabolism and may leads to weight gain.
- Sleep -Too little sleep have a higher risk of weight gain and obesity than people who get seven to eight hours of sleep at night.
- Stress – Excessive stress may leads to cortisol produce may also factor into the stress–weight gain equation. Overweight people have elevated insulin levels, and stress-related weight gain is more likely to occur in the presence of high insulin.
Complications of Obesity:
- High blood pressure (hypertension).
- High LDL cholesterol, low HDL cholesterol, or high levels of triglycerides (dyslipidemia).
- Type 2 diabetes.
- Coronary heart disease.
- Stroke.
- Gallbladder disease.
Control Diet Plan for over-weight and obese:
- Take1 cup of warm water early morning empty stomach
- Breakfast – If Hunger is there then only do Breakfast between 30 to 9.30 am
- Moong Soup spiced with cumin powder and cows ghee. other vegetable soup (Avoid Tomato in cases of hyperacidity)
- Lunch Timings: Strictly Between 12 to 12.30 pmIn Lunch – 1-2 Fulka / 1 jawar bhakari (Roti) , sabji , 1 tsp cows ghee
In Sabji – Parval, Karela , Drumstick, Bhendi, Flower , Gobi , Kaddu etc.
Green Leafy Vegetable – Palak , Rajgira
In Sprouts – Basically it should be avoided but Moong, Masur alternatively can be taken
Evening – 4.30 pm – 5.00 pm – 1 cup of Tea/ 1 cup Cow’s milk can be taken along with that do not eat anything like bakery products (Biscuits, Khari, Cake Avoid) If you feel hungry again at evening then you can take 1-2 Rajgira Laddu - Dinner – Strictly in between 30 -8.00 pm
In Dinner -1-2 Fulka / 1 Jawar bhakari (Roti), sabji, 1 tsp cows ghee Rice (Rice should be slightly roasted before cooking) , Moong Daal (without Tadaka) If possible then use warm water for drinking at time of meal or else throughout dayAvoid afternoon nap immediately after lunch (Avoid Day Sleep)
